Hurt My Shoulder at Work

This might not fit in as a business  post but when you do a lot of typing and you’ve hurt your shoulder you hunt for all cures.

If you have sustained an injury, then you are likely going to need shoulder surgery. During the time between the injury and when your actual surgery takes place, you will need to be sure that you follow the advice of your shoulder surgeon. Depending on the amount of damage, the surgeon may also suggest holding off on surgery. If that is the case, these items can help to minimize the pain you are having.

The first thing that you will want to do is to avoid lifting anything heavy. Depending on the amount of damage you have sustained, you may even want to avoid items more than ten pounds. In addition to this, you are going to find that unless absolutely necessary; you will want to avoid lifting anything above shoulder level.

On the items that you lift before your surgery, you will want to be sure that you keep everything close to your body. Avoid lifting out and do what you can to keep the strain off of your arms as well. This can help you to avoid some pain.

Exercising is going to be important, but you will be limited during this process. A good idea will be to try and do simple swimming techniques such as the breast stroke. In addition to that, you can lift some weights, as long as you keep the lifting of them minimized.

Finally, make sure that you don’t baby the shoulder too much. Often when people have an injury they will rest it and avoid moving it. This can cause the muscles to freeze up and that can lead to additional concerns.

Remember, a shoulder surgery is going to be serious and taking care of your body is going to be important to help offset it. Because of that, make sure that you take the advice of your shoulder surgeon and do all you can to avoid further damage to your body.
